Closure of the criminal division of the Supreme Court of Barbados and all Magistrates’ Courts islandwide

n Monday, September 9th and Tuesday, September 10th, 2024, there will be no sittings at the Criminal Division of the Supreme Court of Barbados, including Criminal Courts 2, 2A, 3, 3A, 4, 4A, 5, and 5A. Additionally, no hearings will take place at any magistrates’ courts across the island during this period. However, the offices of the respective magistrates’ courts and the other departments of the Registration Department will remain open.

These changes to the court’s schedule are necessary to facilitate the attendance of the Judiciary, Magistracy, and the Registrar at a Workshop on the Draft Criminal Procedure Rules, 2024 in Barbados. This workshop will be hosted at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

The Registration Department regrets and apologises for any inconvenience these closures may cause.
