Mask mandate reintroduced at Psychiatric Hospital

The Psychiatric Hospital advises all visitors that mask-wearing is now mandatory in all wards and clinical areas, effective immediately.

This decision follows a rise in respiratory illnesses across Barbados, including Influenza A (H1N1), common cold viruses, seasonal flu A (H3N2), and isolated COVID-19 cases.

To protect patients and staff, visitors must wear a face mask while in clinical spaces. The public is also encouraged to practise hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and consider the seasonal flu vaccine, especially those with chronic conditions.

Management of the hospital thanks members of the public for their cooperation in helping to maintain a safe environment for all.
