Alvin Toppin has died

Alvin Toppin, popular DJ and Democratic Labour Party (DLP) candidate for St Lucy, has died at the age of 52.

He passed away on Wednesday morning at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he had been warded after suffering a stroke last week.

Widely known in the entertainment world as ‘Soca Superman’, Toppin was a staple in the local music scene, performing as a featured DJ at major events, including the annual Crop Over Festival.

In addition to his involvement in the entertainment industry and politics, Toppin was an insurance adviser.
He leaves behind one daughter.
