Copeland remanded to Dodds

Elijah Akeem Copeland appeared in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Thursday facing firearm, ammunition and drug-related charges.

When he appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee, the 25-year-old self-employed resident of Chase Gap, Halls Road, St Michael was not required to plead to having a firearm without a valid licence and 10 rounds of ammunition without a permit on June 27.

However, Copeland pleaded guilty to possession, trafficking, and intent to supply 400 grammes of cannabis on the same date. The drugs have an estimated street value of $2 000.

He was remanded to Dodds Prison and is scheduled to reappear in court on July 31.
