Recaptured prisoner appears in court

Kishon Lamar Anderson Thomas, who was the subject of a more than two-month police manhunt, appeared in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The 26-year-old of Nicholls Road, Seaview, St James, was read the charge that, being in custody of the Barbados Prison Service, having been convicted of murder, he did escape lawful custody from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital without the use of force on May 2.

He is also charged with assaulting police constables Fabian White and Mitchell Alleyne in the execution of their duty on April 30.

Thomas, who was recaptured last Saturday, returns to court on August 13.
