Teens among three remanded on murder charge

Two St Michael teens and a St Philip man appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today on charges of murder and other serious firearm-related offences.

Lance Curt Gidding, 17, of Halls Road, St Michael, and Miliki Colvin Forde, 18, of Belleview Gap, Waterford, in the same parish, and Karl Omar Maynard, 43, of Four Roads, St Philip, are jointly charged with the murder of Cameron Elcock on June 12, endangering life, robbery, causing serious bodily harm, and violent disorder.

Forde is also separately charged with using a firearm and robbery — in the District ‘A’ jurisdiction — on February 20, as well as use of firearm charges on June 12.

Gidding is also facing use of firearm charges — in the District ‘C’ jurisdiction— stemming from offences which allegedly occurred on June 12.

The trio appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes and were remanded until August 13 for the District ‘A’ matters and July 30 for those for District ‘C’.
