Case of counterfeit cash continues Monday

The trial of a man accused of dealing in counterfeit cash will continue before the High Court on Monday, May 31.

The jury has begun hearing evidence in the case against Neil Anthony Broome of St Judes, St George.

However when the matter was called before Madam Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell today, submissions by attorneys involved in the matter were heard without the jury present.

Broome is accused of having in his possession 19 $100 forged bank notes purporting to be genuine Barbados currency issued by the Central Bank of Barbados knowing it to be forged.

The offence is alleged to have been committed on January 28, 2013.

Senior Crown Counsel Rudolph Burnett is prosecuting the matter in which Broome is represented by attorney-at-law Andrew Pilgrim Q.C.
