Lawmen kept busy on New Year’s morning

Members of the Royal Barbados Police Force responded to several incidents at the start of the New Year.

Police spokesman Sergeant Michael Blackman reported the following:

Lawmen responded to reports of gunshots a Greenfield, St Michael about 12:35a.m.

On arrival Maxine Vaughn of the same address said she was sleeping when she felt a burning on her hand. Looking up she saw a hole in the roof.

Police responded to an accident about 4:50a.m. along Varley Hill Road, St Peter, near the horse stables, where motorcar L2468 sustained extensive damage.

The driver 31-year-old Gordon John, of Allendale, St Lucy complained of back injuries.

Around 5:33a.m. police ventured to Welch Village near Bath Land, St John where they discovered motorcar P7555 in a ditch. No one was at the scene.

Investigations are continuing into these incidents.

Meantime on Old Year’s Night, around 10:55 p.m., police responded to a report of gunshots at Bournes Land, St Christopher, Christ Church. However there were no reports of injures or damage to property during the investigations.
