AOPT calls on PSV operators to return to work.

The Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) has urged the operators of Public Service Vehicles to return to work.

AOPT public relations officer Mark Haynes made it clear that the organization does not support the strike and operators should immediately resume services.

“We renounce the strike, we do not support the strike, we do not sanction the strike. I take this opportunity to urge workers to go back to work, he said while speaking on Down to Brasstacks this afternoon.

The operators are up in arms about a new uniform bearing the Barbados Transport Authority’s logo.

However, Haynes stressed that the association was working with the authority to address the issue and operators should exercise patience.

“We are still negotiating, we cannot have anarchy…We are making a concerted effort to address these matters as I speak. Therefore, I urge all workers to return to work immediately,” he said.
