New Yorker remanded

A visitor to the island will spend the weekend at HMP Dodds after appearing in court today on five criminal charges.

Krystal Ann Gatling, of Brooklyn, New York, a 32-year-old media manager, is charged with possession of cannabis, resisting and unlawfully and maliciously wounding police constable Calvin Grosvenor in the execution of his duty. She is also accused of assaulting Lisa Payne occasioning her actual bodily harm and unlawfully and maliciously wounding Kerry Ann Burnett all on March 28, 2019.

She pleaded guilty to the cannabis charge but not guilty to all the other offences when she appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy Sargeant today.

The accused was remanded to the St Philip institution to return before the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on April 1, 2019.
