Accused to change residence

A 62-year-old upholsterer was granted $3,000 bail when he appeared in court recently on a wounding charge.

It is alleged that Frank Martin Worrell, of Baycroft New Road, Carrington Village, St Michael did serious bodily harm to Cecil Worrell with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do some bodily harm to him on April 27.

He was not required to plea to the indictable charge, which was read to him by Magistrate Douglas Frederick.

There was no objection to bail from Sergeant St Clair Phillips who however raised concern that the two men resided at the same residence.

“They are fighting . . . some injuries were sustained including a fractured nose,” the prosecutor revealed.

However, the prosecutor’s fear was quickly settled when Worrell’s surety informed that court that he would also accept the responsibly of finding a place for Worrell to rent.

That undertaking resulted in the magistrate granting bail to the accused whose case continues before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on September 23.
