Case against lawyer to continue next week

The theft and money laundering case against attorney-at-law Vonda Minerva Pile will continue in the No. 5 Supreme Court on Monday.

Pile is accused of stealing US$96,008.22 belonging to former client Anstey King between April 29, 2009 and October 26, 2010 and engaging in the disposal of the proceeds of crime during that time.

She has pleaded not guilty to the two-count indictment and is on trial before a nine-member jury.

The accused Pile is representing herself while acting Director of Public Prosecutions Anthony Blackman and Senior Crown Counsel Krystal Delaney are the prosecutors on the case, which is being heard by Madam Justice Pamela Beckles.
