Update: Harewood dismissed from BDF

 

Lieutenant David Harewood has been dismissed from the Barbados Defence Force.

The ruling was handed down just over an hour after a military panel found him guilty of two charges.

Harewood, whose rank is equivalent to Captain, was charged with having knowledge of a threat to the life of a junior member and neglecting to inform his superiors of such a threat.

He also faced the charge that between January 1, 2014 and September 30, 2018, he conducted unauthorised information gathering operations, conduct unbecoming of a commissioned officer in the BDF.

Harewood, has served in the BDF for 18 years.

His attorney Vincent Watson has disclosed plans to file an appeal in the Supreme Court
