Vauxhall Primary to close for remainder of the week

Vauxhall Primary will be closed for the remainder of the week to facilitate the start of urgent repairs at the Christ Church school.
Following a meeting involving officials from the Ministry of Education, health authorities, and parents this morning, Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw told members of the media that the school will be reopened next Monday.
She, however, noted that some students may have to be relocated to other sites until the work is completed.
Ahead of the meeting, members of the school’s Parent Teacher’s Association staged a quiet protest outside of the school to press education officials to take action to correct the problems, which they claimed resulted in students and teachers suffering from respiratory ailments.
Barbados TODAY understands that only six out of 24 teachers reported for work today, as was the case yesterday.
Several students were also absent.
