The measure paid off when she caught her upstairs neighbour, Haitian national Lazare Bejean stealing her food supplies. She called the police and the landlord of the Bush Hall, St Michael apartments and reported the matter. Prosecutor Kenmore Philips who outlined the facts said Bejean arrived in Barbados on November 28, 2018. Today in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court he pleaded guilty to entering Samara Lackrai’s apartment between February 25 and March 17 as a trespasser and stealing food items and colognes worth $251. 79. In mitigation Bejean’s attorney told Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant among other things that his client was part of the group of Haitians who arrived in Barbados in 2018 in search of employment.
