Alleged gunman remanded

A 30-year-old mason was remanded to prison on Saturday on several gun related charges, which are alleged to have been committed in St Philip.

Judd Brandon Barton, from Lucus Street, St Philip, was not required to plead to the indictable charges when he appeared before Magistrate Wayne Clarke in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on October 25, 2019, in the District ‘C’ jurisdiction, Barton entered the house of Vincent Thorne as a trespasser and stole $14 cash while armed with a gun.

Barton is also accused of wounding Shawn Francis on April 3 with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him and using a firearm on the same day when he did not have a valid licence to do so.

Barton will make his next appearance on May 8 at the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court. (FW)
