No new cases, says MOH as more recover

For the fifth straight day, there have been no new cases of coronavirus in Barbados, the health ministry said today, trumpeting the release of four more patients declared to have recovered from the severe respiratory illness.

The four people tested negative for the second time as the protocol requires before they are released from hospital. They were among 28 negative test results returned by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, the Ministry of Health said.

The number of patients who have recovered from the viral illness moves to 23 while 47 others remain in isolation.

Five people have died among the 75 who have tested positive for COVID-19 since the first cases were diagnosed on March 16.

The total number of tests conducted since February 11 amounted 1,063.
