Court Local News Three before the court on curfew charges Barbados Today28/04/2020081 views Three men charged with breaking the Covid-19 curfew have been warned to “seriously” consider their movement going forward. Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes gave the advice to 48-year-old Rene Orlando Pilgrim and 24-year-old Raheem Akeem Grimes both, of 5th Avenue North Lowlands Drive, Friendship Terrace, St Michael and 25-year-old soldier Kyle Akeem Hutson, of Ruth Road, Ellerton, St George. They are accused of being outdoors without a reasonable explanation on April 17 about 7:30 p.m. when there was a national curfew directive that all persons remain indoors. The three men pleaded not guilty to the charge when they appeared in the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court today. There were no objections to bail by the prosecutor and Hutson, who is represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens secured the $3,000 bail sum with one surety. Grimes and Pilgrim, who have Andrew Pilgrim Q.C. and Dwight Moseley as their legal counsel also, secured the amount each with a surety. “Let me advise all of you that the charge is a very serious matter. But the point remains that . . . you should think seriously about your movements going forward, we are not playing with these charges,” Chief Magistrate Weekes said before adjourning the matter until August 11.
