House destroyed by fire in The Pine

Police are investigating after one house was destroyed by fire and another damaged in The Pine on Friday night.
Around 8:05 pm, police at District ‘A’ Station were summoned to the residence of Wayne Carrington, 62, at #34 Golden Rock, The Pine, St Michael.
Carrington had called the station to report that his residence caught fire after his gas stove exploded as he was cooking.
Two fire tenders along with eight personnel responded and extinguished the flames, but by that time the uninsured house was completely destroyed.
The house of the next door neighbour, located at #36 and occupied by June Bourne, was damaged.
