UPDATE: Police officer reportedly shot in St John

Police confirm that a male officer, whose name has not been disclosed, was shot and injured while on duty at Henley, St John today.

According to Sergeant Michael Blackman, around 11.45 a.m., officers were working in the area of Henley Plantation when they challenged an individual who opened fire.

As a result, the officer was injured. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Police said the culprit has a light complexion and is short and stocky.

He was wearing a green and white T-shirt and short green pants.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist investigations to contact the District ā€˜Cā€™ Police Station at 1 (246) 416-8200, Police Emergency at211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800 (TIPS) 8477 or any police station.
