Teen banned from home

Absalom Abejah Francis-Hunte

Eighteen-year-old Absalom Abejah Francis-Hunte had to find a new place to live today after he burnt his bridges with the person with whom he was residing.

Francis-Hunte, of Gill’s Gap, Eagle Hall, St Michael pleaded guilty before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant to damaging two windows belonging to Jeffrey Olton on June 14.

However, with no source of employment, he was unable to repay the homeowner.

Olson, who was in court, demanded his house key from Francis-Hunte and that he not return to the residence. He also revealed that the young man was not his family but his goddaughter’s son.

Magistrate Cuffy-Sergeant made the order. She also informed the teen that he had to vacate Olton’s premises by 2 p.m. today and get all his belongings accompanied by an officer of the Royal Barbados Police Force.

Also, the young man must complete 100 hours of community service for his crime and return to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on August 14. He is on $200 bail in the meantime.
