BHTA announces new board of directors

 

The Barbados  Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) has appointed a new board of Directors to serve for the period 2020 – 2021.

Announced at the association’s recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), the board is headed by Chairman Geoffrey Roach and includes immediate past chairman – Stephen Austin, first Vice Chairman – Soni Kessuram, second Vice Chairman – Javon Griffith, Director of Finance – Jo-Ann Roett and Director – Direct Tourism Services (DTS) – Kavita Sandiford.

Category Chairpersons on the Board are Alfredo Giovine – Chairperson  DTS, Karen Capaldi – Chairperson Luxury, Tammy LeBlanc – Chairperson ‘A’ Class, Cecile Harewood-Gibson – Chairperson ‘B’ Class & Apartments and Andrew Mallalieu – Chairperson Vacation Rentals.

 

CEO of the BHTA Senator Rudy Grant also sits on the Board, as well as Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., (BTMI) representative Robert Chase and Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) representative Patricia Affonso-Dass.

Chairman Roach, who will serve for the next two years stated, “I am optimistic about our future despite the current challenges that we are facing. I know that as long as we join hands and work collaboratively, no matter what role we play or what organization we represent, the diamond that is Barbados will shine bright. I look forward to working with each of you as we move the organization forward.” (PR)
