Teen charged with two murders and other offences remanded

An 18-year-old male appeared in court today on two murder charges allegedly committed in two different jurisdictions.

Eighteen-year-old Shane Wesley Dawson, of 5th Avenue Peterkins Land, Bank Hall, St Michael is accused of murdering Marlon Holder on January 16, just outside the entrance of the St Alban’s Primary School, located at Weston, St James. That offence occurred in the District ‘E’ Holetown jurisdiction. The accused is the third person charged in connection with Holder’s shooting death.

It is also alleged that Dawson murdered Rondell Alexander on December 13, 2019 in the District ‘A’ jurisdiction.

He is also facing several other criminal charges including endangering life, possession of a gun and ammunition as well as criminal damage.

He was not required to plead to any of the indictable charges when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick this afternoon accompanied by his attorneys-at-law Shadia Simpson and Safiya Moore.

Dawson was remanded to HMP Dodds to appear in the District ‘E’ Holetown Magistrates’ Court on July 21 and again in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on July 22.
