Gittens remanded

Dwayne Omar Gittens, 35, of no fixed place of abode was remanded until July 24 when he appeared before Magistrate Kristy Cuffy-Sergeant in court this morning charged with two counts of murder.

He is accused of taking the life of contract worker Glenroy James and Nation photojournalist Christoff Griffith on June 22 at Bishop’s Court, Bishop’s Court Hill, St Michael.

When the Magistrate asked Gittens if he had a lawyer, he replied “no ma’am”.

The Magistrate ordered that the accused receive a psychiatric evaluation while on remand.

Prosecutor Cameron Gibbons requested that the psychiatric evaluation be conducted. (AH)
