St James men remanded on guns and ammunition charges

 

Two St James men were remanded to HMP Dodds today after appearing at the Holetown Magistrate Court before Magistrate Wanda Blair on gun and ammunition charges.

Baggio Elson Roberto Roach, 29, of Block #1 38 Thorpes, is accused of possession of a Glock 9mm pistol without a licence and possession of eight rounds of ammunition without a valid permit.

The second accused is Mario Antonio Demar Robinson, 29, of Denny Road, Thorpes. He is charged with possession of with Ruger .40 pistol without a licence and possession of eight rounds of ammunition without a valid permit to do so.

The duo was arrested last Tuesday while members of the Anti-gun and Gangs Unit and the Northern Division Criminal Investigation Department searched Roach’s residence.

Roach and Robinson were at the house and attempted to escape but were apprehended.  A search of their person uncovered the firearms and ammunition.

They will reappear in court on Monday, August 10.
