Arthur spends day in QEH ICU

Former Prime Minister Owen Arthur

Former Prime Minister Owen Arthur remains in stable condition under the care of Queen Elizabeth Hospital doctors.

Barbados TODAY learned earlier Thursday that the 70-year-old Arthur was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit after suffering from heart trouble the night before.

He has reportedly been undergoing tests.

Arthur, the nation’s fifth and longest serving prime minister, retired from public life in 2018. He turns 71 on October 17.

The respected economist was appointed Chairman of LIAT in early January.
