Courts Barbados awards shoppers with prizes and donations

Courts Barbados has awarded more than $30 000 in cash prizes and donations to shoppers and members of the community.

Managing Director of Courts Trisha Tannis announced that the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), and vulnerable students at primary schools will benefit from the donations, as she delivered remarks during the company’s Homecation Prize Giving Event at its Bridgetown Store, this morning.

Tannis said that ironically, 2020 is a significant year for the Courts brand, which is celebrating its 55th anniversary. She said Courts’ plans to celebrate the achievement in grand style had to be slightly altered due to the ongoing pandemic.

“But nevertheless, we are determined that we will celebrate in whatever form or fashion. We will not be daunted. And I am pleased to say that courts remain committed to showing appreciation to you our customers and that is one thing that has not changed in 55 years.

“To our wider community, we will continue to demonstrate our passion to this island and this is extremely important to us especially in these uncertain times as we seek to deliver and add value wherever possible,” Tannis said.

Entertainer Edwin Harewood attended the event and provided entertainment for staff, prize winners, and recipients of the donations. (AH)
