Virtual Commemoration of the National Day of Significance

The Clement Payne Movement will commemorate Barbados’ Day of National Significance with speeches and cultural presentations on Sunday, July 26, on CBC TV 8, commencing at 4 p.m.

The staging of this event will not be held at Golden Square, Probyn Street, as previously advertised, due to disruptions caused by the recent inclement weather.

The virtual commemoration will include speeches by Prime Minister Mia Mottley; Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong; Cuba’s Ambassador to Barbados, Sergio Jorge Pastrana; Minister with responsibility for Culture, John King, and leaders of the Barbados Workers Union and National Union of Public Workers.

The Clement Payne Movement wishes to apologise for the change in programme, and looks forward to persons viewing from the comfort of their homes, as Barbados’ involvement in the historic Caribbean labour rebellions of the 1930s is remembered and honoured.

(Ambassador to CARICOM)
