Man shot and killed in St George

A man is dead after he was shot near his residence at Rowans, St George on Sunday, police say.

Around 7:45 this morning, police received a report that a man had been shot several times.

On arrival to the scene, police found a man lying on the ground with what appeared to be a number of injuries about his chest and head.

Ambulance personnel arrived shortly afterwards and took the man to the QEH for medical attention.

The victim was pronounced dead at hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
