Sealy denies assaulting, wounding woman

A 48-year-old labourer was remanded to Dodds prison after appearing before Bridgetown Magistrate Douglas Frederick on numerous charges involving the same woman.

Paul Christopher Sealy, of Sargeant’s Street, St John is accused of wounding Erica Carrington on March 8 and assaulting her on March 10 as well as destroying a cellular phone belonging to her on that date.

He pleaded not guilty to those charges and to unlawfully and maliciously wounding the same woman on March 17. It is further alleged that he assaulted Carrington on February 20 causing her actual bodily harm.

The accused is also facing a charge of sending a threatening message via telecommunications to Carrington which read “Back out here. I gine still kill you girl, ya ras**le don’t care how long it tek, I gine fu**ing kill you.”

He also pleaded not guilty to that alleged July 15 offence.

Magistrate Frederick remanded him to Dodds until August 24 after hearing submissions against bail by the Crown and for bail by the defendant.
