Drug trafficker admits guilt

When Wayne Ricardo Worrell appeared before the High Court today he pleaded guilty to having 632. 5 kilogrammes of marijuana in Barbados’ territorial waters over eight years ago.

The Belleplaine Housing Area, St Andrew resident also admitted to importation and trafficking of the illicit substance on July 17, 2012.

The pleas where accepted by Crown Counsel Romario Straker when the matter was heard via Zoom in the No. 2 Supreme Court today.

The now convicted man who is represented by attorney-at-law Dr Glenda Blackman will reappear before Justice Randall Worrell on Wednesday, August 26 when the details of what occurred when he was apprehended on the high seas will be disclosed.
