BWU warns of impending job cuts

The Barbados Workers’ Union has announced today that several job cuts are looming as companies continue to point to dwindling commerce as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

General Secretary of the BWU Senator Toni Moore and her team made the disclosure this morning as they spoke to a range of labour-related issues affecting workers.

The union officials say the labour issues are across a number of sectors.

They said the current climate highlighted the need for deeper discussions, more training and changes to the labour laws.
