Habitual offender headed back to prison

The shackles were snapped back on the hands of Andrew Sylvester Moore today just when he thought he was a free man.

The 45-year-old, of no fixed place of abode, had spent the last 28 days on remand charged with stealing a $230 car stereo on July 28, the property of Unicomer Barbados Limited which trades as Courts. That offence was committed just a day after Moore was released from Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds.

When he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today he pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to time served.

However, the 12-month bond imposed on him on July 27 for a period of 12-months came back to haunt him.

That sentence which was imposed for stealing a pair of pants belonging to Simply Genuine Boutique was triggered when he admitted to the first charge.
