The man accused of killing 42-year-old optometrist Tanya Greenidge is now on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds.

Escorted by police, businessman Corey Orlando Gill, of No 36 Croton Drive, Husbands, St James arrived at the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court in St Matthias, Christ Church, around 11 a.m. today and subsequently appeared before Magistrate Elwood Watts charged with murdering Greenidge on August 28 at her Green Point Development, St Philip home.

The 36-year-old was not required to plead to the indictable charge.

Gill, who is being represented by attorney-at-law Martie Garnes, was remanded to the St Philip facility until November 2, by consent.

According to a press release previously issued by the Public Relations Department of the Royal Barbados Police Force, personnel at District ‘C’ Police Station received a report via telephone of two persons believed to be deceased at the mentioned residence.

A police patrol responded, a check was made and the ambulance was summoned and Greenidge was found dead, while a man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for medical attention.
