Bullies to face sentencing September 25

Three young people convicted of manslaughter in a high-profile bullying case, will be sentenced next week.

Shaquille Shamal Khalleel Bradshaw, 22, and Doniko Javier Alleyne,22, both of Balls Land, Christ Church and Maria Antoinette Goddard, 24, of Parish Land C, Balls Land, Christ Church appeared in the No. 2 Supreme Court today before Justice Randall Worrell.

The court determined that documents dealing with the compensation to the parents of the deceased, are expected to be prepared by September 25. This is also set to be the sentencing date for the three who were convicted by a jury of unlawfully killing 11-year-old Ian Elroy Gibson, a Princess Margaret Secondary School student, on September 20, 2009.

Evidence given during the trial revealed that Gibson was struck by a vehicle after he was involved in an altercation with Bradshaw, Alleyne and Goddard his schoolmates at the time.

Sentencing submissions were already completed by lawyers Angella Mitchell-Gittens and Arthur Holder and Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale. The three also apologized to the court.
