QEH fight lands two women in court

Two women who caused a disturbance at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), were placed on a bond to keep the peace.

Natalie Nicole Lyder, 34, of Curwen Avenue, Bayland, St Michael and Roseann Joyann Hunte, 36, of Stage 2 Jackson Terrace, St Michael said that on September 15, 2020 they both had appointments at the QEH.

While there, a quarrel erupted between the two after Hunte heard Lyder telling someone over the phone that Hunte was at the hospital.

In response to this, Hunte loudly said she didn’t know why it was anyone’s business where she was.

In a standoff, both armed themselves with chairs and other patients scampered. One patient was struck with a chair during the brawl.

The police was notified and the hospital indicated they wanted the two charged.

They were arrested and taken to Central Police Station.

On Wednesday the two apologised to the court and the QEH for their behavior. Both have previous convictions – Lyder has one while Hunte has four.

The two must keep the peace for six months, failure to do so will result in a $750 fine or three months in prison.

The matter was heard before Magistrate Allison Burke in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court.
