The man,  was taken to hospital by ambulance, but was later pronounced dead by doctors. A 20-year-old man,  believed to have been stabbed in the stomach in the same incident around 2 a.m. was being treated in hospital, but his condition was not immediately known.

The stabbing death — Bermuda’s fourth murder of the year , followed a firearm incident in the central parish of Pembroke two days earlier that left two men in hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Friday evening’s incident occurred near a primary school. Police said the suspect in the shooting was an individual seen riding a motorcycle in the area.

Both victims are “stable and receiving treatment”, according to police. Last month a 31-year-old woman, later named as Garrina Cann, was shot and killed outside her house in Pembroke after a party was winding down. Police said Cann had been the target of threats, but did not elaborate.

Her brother, Garry Cann, was killed in a shooting in December 2009.
