BWA conducting repairs to a ruptured main at Carmichael in St. George

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) wishes to advise that on Sunday night a rupture occurred on a large-sized main at Carmichael or Old Works Hill in St. George.

Crews are today working to fix this burst. As a result, two of the Authority’s Stations have had to be taken offline in order to facilitate the repair.

Customers in the following areas may experience low water pressure or outages. First Step, Lower Brighton, Waverley Cot, Buttals Tenantry, Good Intent, Eastlyn, Manning’s Village, Walkers Valley, Constant, Windsor Tenantry, Campaign Castle, Brereton, Hannays Valley, Lower Greys, Dayrells Hill, Boarded Hall, Frere Pilgrim, Edey Village, Watts Village, St. Davids, Cox Road, Bannantyne, South District and surrounding areas.

The BWA is also today carrying out repairs to bursts on small-sized mains in Rockfield, St. Lucy; Chimborazo, St. Joseph and replacing hydrants at West Terrace, St. James and Fustic Village in St. Lucy.

The Authority has dispatched water tankers to assist the affected customers and apologizes for the inconvenience these service disruptions have caused. (PR)
