Common Entrance Exam date shift

Students of class four will have some additional time to prepare for the Common Entrance Examination.
Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw announced at a press conference today that the Barbados Secondary School Entrance Examination (BSSEE) will now be held on June 22, 2021.

“We have also recognised that the date of the 11-plus exam, which was traditionally scheduled in May, is perhaps not going to be practical for persons to be able to sit that examination on that date, given the amount of time that has been lost,” she said.

Bradshaw explained the decision was taken after consultation with teachers who indicated they wanted the exam date rescheduled.

“I hope that parents, teachers and students will breathe a sigh of relief over the course of the next days and certainly the coming week and months, as it relates to their preparations for that particular examination,” the Education Minister added.
