Emerald City store closes after nine employees attend bus crawl event

The following statement was issued by Andrew Bynoe, Managing Director, Aone Supermarket Ltd.

On Friday January 1, 2021, we were made aware that nine members of our Emerald City staff attended the bus crawl on Boxing Day that turned out to be a spread for the COVID virus. These persons are being tested today January 2, 2021 at the Polyclinic assigned.

Out of an abundance of caution, we have called in a medical team to test other members of our Emerald City staff who could have been in contact with those persons.

As a result the Emerald City store will not be open for business today January 2, 2021. We will keep you our valued customers fully informed as we take the necessary steps to safeguard your health and the health of our staff.

Our Carlton store at Black Rock remains open.

We apologize for the inconvenience  and thank you for your understanding .
