Business Local News News Black Knight group donates to the needy Barbados Today Traffic07/01/2021353 views Black Knight Bikers is not just about stunts and wheelies, but for giving back and making a difference. The local bike group continues to engage in projects and programmes that raise the profile of bikers and remove the stereotype. For the third year, they distributed hampers to more than 40 families in the parishes of Bridgetown, St. Michael, Christ Church, and St. Philip. President Fabian Reeves lauded the glow on the faces of the recipients he says were chosen by members of the group. “We asked members to submit names of those who they believe are in need to receive these hampers which we consider [not just] a Christmas donation but a New Year start.” The gesture also had support from members of The Barbados Tridents, another bike group. He says they received sterling contributions from several companies, but he is appealing to corporate Barbados to give more when they can, “No matter how small because we love giving to those in need.” Over the season, they, along with another organization, were able to make donations to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) and Mount Pisgah Spiritual Baptist Church. He says in 2021 the group will focus its attention on its Anti-Bullying Campaign, Mentoring of Young Boys Programme and will also be hosting some fundraising events. He is seeking the support of all Barbadians. (PR)
