REGIONAL: UK COVID-19 variant in Martinique

Source: St Lucia Times – Martinique has confirmed its first case of the UK variant of COVID-19 but says the female patient is doing well.

That’s according to local media reports. Health officials said when they suspected that the woman had the virus, they isolated her while samples were sent to France for confirmation.

The results were positive but five of the patients contacts tested negative.

The patient remains in isolation local reports say.
