Sindhi community donates to COVID-19 cause

Members of the Sindhi community recently made a presentation of 20 divan beds, 20 twin sheet sets and 100 toweling bathmats to the Barbados Government for use at the Blackman and Gollop facility.

The donation was in response to challenges experienced at the facility due to the lack of various physical necessities for the basic comfort of recovering COVID-19 patients. The Sindhi community rallied together to collect donations to make the sizeable purchase.

Receiving the contribution was manager of isolation facilities, Dr. Corey Forde, who expressed his elation and gratitude for the community’s kind gesture.

Making the presentation was member Kiran Vensimal who said her community was supportive of Government in the battle against the spread of COVID-19 and thanked
Dr. Forde and the entire team of frontline workers at all facilities across the island for their continued effort, dedication, and bravery.

“We are all in this together and hope that the Sindhi community can continue to be of service in any way that the Government may need,” she said.  (PR)
