33,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines en route to Barbados

Barbados is all set to receive 33, 600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine – the first of a batch purchased under the global vaccine purchasing programme, COVAX, early on Tuesday morning.

The shipment will arrive just in time for Government to resume its national vaccination programme.

During the first phase of the programme, 63, 738 persons were vaccinated – 26, 344 males and 37, 394 females.

Barbados TODAY also understands that, Dominica, St Vincent and St Kitts/Nevis among others are expected to receive COVAX shipments on Tuesday. (BT)
