Beaches and public parks closed

The National Conservation Commission has advised that beaches are presently closed and will remain closed for the rest of today, Saturday, April 10, due to the present atmospheric conditions.

Low visibility compromises the effectiveness of lifeguard interventions.

In addition, inhalation of volcanic ash presents a number of health concerns, which include respiratory problems, eye problems, and possible skin irritation.

The public is also asked to note that beach facilities, public parks and the Oistins Bay Gardens facility in Christ Church will be closed as well.

The NCC thanks members of the public for their cooperation. (BGIS)
