US cruise line to run ‘all-vaccinated’ trips from here

American luxury cruise line Seabourn Thursday announced it is working with Barbadian officials to begin sailing from Bridgetown with only COVID-vaccinated guests as soon as mid-July.

The line headquartered in Seattle, Washington said on its website it will operate a series of seven-day voyages round-trip out to Southern Caribbean destinations.

Seabourn said the cruises are open to any travellers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no sooner than 14 days before sailing. Proof of vaccination and the dates given will be required.

Crew members are also to be vaccinated, it said.

Voyages on Seabourn Odyssey will include calls at Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts.

Guests can also choose a 14-day option, which combines two distinct seven-day itineraries between the Windward and Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Sea, Seabourn said.

Previously released itineraries for the Fall 2021 sailings include additional port calls at St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Guadeloupe, and Martinique.

Seabourn’s president Josh Leibowitz declared:  “We are grateful to be working in concert with the Government of Barbados to restart tourism in Barbados.”

The line has also announced plans to resume cruises in Greece aboard Seabourn Ovation from July. (BT)
