Police destroy illegal drugs

Police personnel from the Drug Squad, The Anti-Gun & Gangs Unit, the Criminal Investigations Department Central and members of the Barbados Defence Force destroyed a massive quantity of illegal drugs around 6:30 a.m., on Friday.
Under the supervision of Acting Superintendent Elliot Bovell, Commander of the Southern Division,  a total of 9817 marijuana plants; 1185 kgs of compressed cannabis and 17.5 kgs of cocaine were burned.
These drugs came into the custody of the police via the various ports of entry, drug eradication programs islandwide, and cases that were adjudicated and official orders were given for them to be disposed of.
