COVID-19 UPDATE: Three new cases, 30 discharged

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory recorded three new positive COVID-19 cases – all females – on Tuesday, May 18, from the 428 tests conducted.

Thirty people also recovered from the virus and were discharged. There are currently 59 persons in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 3,975 confirmed COVID-19 cases (1,923 females and 2,052 males) since March, last year, and 3,965 persons have recovered. The virus has claimed 47 lives.

Since February 2020, the public health laboratory has carried out 163,940 tests.
There have been 76,045 people vaccinated against COVID-19 (first and second doses) under the National Vaccination Programme.

This figure includes 47,132 persons who have been fully immunised during the second phase of the programme. (BGIS)
