St George man on gun charges

Alleged gunman Giovani Armani Prescod has been remanded to Dodds for the next 28 days.

The 22-year-old from Airy Hill, St George appeared before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes today accused of having a .25 calibre pistol on June 6, without a valid licence along with six rounds of ammunition without the necessary permit.

Prescod was not required to plead to the indictable charges before the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

He is also facing charges of possession, possession with intent to supply and having a trafficable quantity of cannabis, on the same date. He pleaded not guilty on these charges. The substance weighed 66.3 grammes and had a $331.40 estimated street value.

The cases against Prescod will continue on July 7.
