Jamaicans remanded on multiple charges

A 29-year-old carpenter and 23-year-old labourer were today remanded to Dodds prison. They will make their next appearance in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on July 8 before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes.

Jamaicans Ryon Antonio Williams, of Fontabelle, St Michael and Shaquiero Javed Forde, of Rock Hall, St Thomas are accused of entering Evans Holford’s house on June 5 and stealing $97 in cash belonging to the homeowner as well as two cellular phones worth $190 and a black knife worth $15 belonging to Jonathan Wilkinson. It is alleged that they had an imitation firearm at the time.

The duo is also charged with robbing Jay Goodrich, on the same day, of a $10 wallet, a $1 500 cellular phone, a $30 phone case and $60 in cash.

Sergeant Vernon Waithe objected to bail for the two men.

Williams is scheduled to appear before the District ‘C’ St Matthias Magistrates’  Court on June 17 to face a breach of COVID-19 curfew.
